Overview

Highlights

The Bibbulmun Track is one of the world’s great long distance walk trails, stretching 1,000 kilometres from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills, to Albany on the south coast, winding through the heart of the scenic South West of Western Australia. The Track takes walkers through many of the most beautiful national parks of the south west forests and coastline, and offers a wide range of experiences from a gentle day walk, to an epic 8 week adventure.

You can make it a wilderness experience by camping out in the 49 campsites along the way, join a guided group tour or you can do it in comfort by staying overnight in the towns along the track and enjoying day walks in the area.

The campsites have a rustic timber sleeping shelter, pit toilet, rainwater tank and tent sites. The track is well marked with yellow triangular markers symbolising the 'Waugal' (rainbow serpent of the Aboriginal Dreaming). Nyoongar people are known and acknowledged as the traditional owners and custodians of the land and waters over which the Bibbulmun Track passes.

Important Information

Guidelines

  • Always do some research before heading out for your journey. Visit the Bibbulmun Track website for the most up to date information.
  • Stay safe and get the most out of your visit by preparing for natural hazards and other outdoor risks. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of those in your care.
  • Wear suitable footwear and ensure to wear appropriate clothing to protect yourself from the elements when outside exploring.
  • Plan ahead and ensure to take enough food and water for your journey.
  • Always stay on the marked tracks where possible. Never climb fences, they are there for your own safety.
  • Please consider the environment, take your rubbish with you or place in the bins provided. We want to ensure these beautiful places are still here for our future generations to enjoy.
  • Ensure to let a responsible adult know of your plans and report back into them once you have finished exploring for the day.
  • National park fees may apply. Check the Bibbulmun Track website for further details.
