Fruit Bat Falls is up there as being one of the most bucket list-worthy waterfalls to visit in all of Australia. Also known as one of the best places to swim along the Old Telegraph Track. After a long day driving along a dusty, bumpy Old Telegraph Track, the reward of a refreshing swim at Fruit Bat Falls along the way is well worth it. Camping is permitted at Eliot Falls, Captain Billy Landing and along the Jardine river.
Eliot Falls camping ground is just 10km down the road from Fruit Bat Falls. Fees apply for camping, ensure to book in advance with QLD Parks and Wildlife Service so that you do not miss out.

- Swimming near or under waterfalls can be dangerous due to strong currents, submerged hidden rock ledges and other dangers. The force of a waterfall can be incredibly strong and unfortunately, many people have drowned. Follow warning signs and take caution.
- Plan ahead and ensure to take enough food, fuel and water for your journey.
- Always stay on the marked tracks where possible. Never climb fences, they are there for your own safety.
- Please consider the environment, take your rubbish with you or place in the bins provided. We want to ensure these beautiful places are still here for our future generations to enjoy.
- Ensure to let a responsible adult know of your plans and report back into them once you have finished exploring for the day.
