Giant Stairway – The Three Sisters
Highlights
Take a day trip to the Blue Mountains National Park and take on the challenging Echo Point to Scenic World walking track via the Giant Stairway. Enjoy awe-inspiring views from Echo Point lookout before descending into the valley over more than 800 steel and stone steps. The steps were originally forged in 1909. Keep an eye out for amazing native flora and astounding native wildlife in the bush of the Blue Mountains. Along the way, marvel at the Three Sisters from the floor of the Jamison Valley, stroll past Federal Pass and travel past the cascading beauty of Katoomba Falls to popular tourist attraction Scenic World. On arrival at Scenic World, visitors can take the opportunity to ride the Scenic Railway back to the top, or climb up the steep Furber Steps for more amazing rainforest vistas.
The scenic railway is known for having the steepest incline in the world at 52 degrees. Plan your walk to ensure you make the last train at 4:50pm. Visitors should note that the walking track is listed as Grade Four, with a very steep gradient and some bushwalking experience recommended.
