Outback at Isa is the hub of Tourism in North West Queensland. Your one stop shop to explore what the region has to offer. They are an award winning visitor information centre and run the Hard Times Underground Mine Tours, Riversleigh Fossil Centre, The Isa Experience Heritage Display, The Outback Park and Mount Isa Regional Art Gallery.
The Hard Times Mine is a unique underground mining experience in a mine built and operated by real miners that provides a rare opportunity to get up close and experience first hand the daily life and workings of an underground mine.
The Isa Experience Heritage Display is an interactive, multi-media gallery interpreting the region's fascinating cultural, indigenous, pioneering and mining heritage.
The Riversleigh Fossil Centre interprets the fossils extracted from the nearby World-Heritage Riversleigh fossil fields. Themed and designed to showcase the endemic plants of the region, Outback Park is a two hectare landscaped park featuring a beautiful lagoon and waterfall.
Outback at Isa has the latest information on roads and weather, plus advice on where to go when starting your outback journey. There are WiFi facilities, a café serving meals and coffee, and find something unique in their Explorers Gift Shop.
