All About
Simpsons Beach
Tucked away near the Broome Port on the tranquil shores of Roebuck Bay, Simpson’s Beach (often written as Simpsons Beach) is one of Broome’s best-kept secrets. While most visitors head straight for Cable Beach, those in the know head here to witness the breathtaking visual contrast that makes the Kimberley region famous: fiery red pindan sand meeting emerald mangroves and sparkling turquoise waters.
Made popular by local photographers and travel creators, Simpson's Beach offers an uncrowded, peaceful escape where you can soak in raw tropical beauty, snap bucket-list photos, and experience Broome’s striking colors away from the crowds.
Attraction Highlights
- The Iconic Wooden Staircase: Take the ultimate Kimberley photo on the wooden steps descending through fiery red soil down to the beach. The contrasting background of blue ocean and vibrant earth creates an instantly recognizable Broome shot.
- Vivid Color Contrast: Experience the stunning collision of deep red pindan dirt, lush green mangroves, and bright blue water.
- Drone Photography Haven: From above, the shoreline unfolds into incredible abstract patterns. If you fly a drone, keep an eye out for unique mangrove formations and winding tidal channels along Roebuck Bay.
- Tranquil Coastal Solitude: Unlike busier tourist beaches, Simpson’s Beach remains quiet and peaceful, making it ideal for a quiet stroll, birdwatching, or taking in a scenic sunrise over the bay.
