Overview

Highlights

Lake Wyangala is located a short drive from Cowra at the junction of the Lachlan and Abercrombie Rivers. The lake is a clean, clear vast expanse of water. The surrounding area offers excellent accommodation and camping facilities. There are bungalows, cottages, cabins and even a couple of house boats. There are plenty of powered and unpowered grassy campsites and caravan sites and even a backwater camping area for the more adventurous.

Make the most of clear country skies at this destination that is ideal for a day trip and picnic. There is a children’s playground, volley ball court and many walking trails through the bush to suit all levels of fitness. There are plenty of mountain bike trails to explore with varied terrain and spectacular scenery. A paddle around the foreshores any time of year is a wonderful and relaxing way to enjoy a day.

Take the boat out for some water-skiing fun. Make the most of the excellent fishing. Let the kids go wild in the bush; building forts and having adventures. Enjoy bushwalking, spotting kangaroos and birds, then finish the day around the campfire, toasting marshmallows under a big starry sky.
